The trials of your everyday
Work, responsibilities, and dangerous play
The many mistakes of your early years
Or the deepest regrets within salty tears
Your heart has been broken or coldly untouched
You've lost or never found love but you want it so much
You think you know what love is but haven't really found it
Or you have just lost love and think you can't live without it
The pain in your heart seems unfair and unjust
Or you find hopes and dreams disintegrate into dust
Your life appears meaningless and you simply don't care
Or you've been exposed, all defenses stripped bare
You think it's all over, you think it's all done
Or you find you've done nothing, your life hardly begun
You keep searching for something that you'll never find
You'll keep searching your soul, your heart, and you mind
Yet all remains hidden by these ignorant eyes
We all want what's hidden beneath a deceitful disguise
Our heart tells us yes, our mind tells us no
When our soul just wants its other half, so
Take your sad thoughts and toss them away
Take some initiative and mean what you say
Be bold and brave, face up to your fears
Don't hide in a corner, dry your regretting tears
Take baby steps forward, not giant steps back
Think of what you've gained, not what you lack
Dwell not on the dark side of the moon
But dance under a sun of golden afternoons
Take life by the horns and never let go
Don't sleep in the tower, but confront your foe
Slay your dragons and demons, don't let them take control
Don't submit or subside, defend your heart and soul
But never let fear keep out what you want most of all
Love and affection are truly worth the fall
But to find love's happiness you must find courage too
You must take a chance to know the one whose soul completes you
Don't be discouraged and don't ever despair
In finding the one whose life you will share
Life is a journey, as you've often been told
And love is something to let fly, not to hold.

I am not violent.
I am not malicious.
I am a result.
